The National Documentation Centre (EKT) serves as National Contact Point for Horizon Europe, the EU's framework programme for research and innovation for 2021-2027.
Horizon Europe is the EU’s flagship research and innovation programme, with a budget of €95.5 billion. Its primary objectives include addressing the climate crisis, driving the digital transformation of society and the economy, ensuring the well-being and security of citizens, and protecting European democracy.
The programme fosters collaboration and maximises the impact of research and innovation on the economy and society. It creates jobs, supports economic growth, and boosts industrial competitiveness.
The priorities outlined in Horizon Europe’s strategic plan are implemented through the work programme, which details funding opportunities for research and innovation activities through specific calls for proposals.

EKT as a National Contact Point for Horizon Europe
National Contact Points (NCPs), designated by the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation (GSRI), provide official guidance and support to Greek organisations and businesses participating in Horizon Europe.
EKT is a National Contact Point for:
- Pillar I: Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA)
- Pillar II: “Health” and “Digital, Industry, and Space” clusters
- EU Cancer Mission
EKT also participates in the following trans-European NCP networks:
- Ideal-ist: for Digital Technologies
