The European project COHES.io (Connected Health Ecosystems via Open Innovation) launched its inaugural event on 24-25 January 2024 in Budapest. The National Documentation Centre (EKT) is a key partner, playing a central role in communication, dissemination, and exploitation of project outcomes.

The project aims to strengthen open innovation across three healthcare ecosystems in Europe. Its goal is to create an open innovation environment for digital health, connecting the regional ecosystems of Portugal (Norte region), Poland (Malopolskie region), and Greece (Attica region). This initiative is supported by the DRIVE methodology developed by Delft University of Technology and coordinated by EIT Health Innostars.

EKT from Greece, Universidade do Porto from Portugal, and Klaster LifeScience Kraków from Poland—EIT Health innovation hubs and now COHES.io partners—collaborate closely to pool expertise and resources in identifying and jointly implementing sustainable solutions to healthcare challenges.

As part of the project, EKT is responsible for disseminating, communicating, and exploiting project results, as well as conducting interviews with key ecosystem stakeholders. Specifically, EKT will organise four in-person workshops where health innovation ecosystem stakeholders will exchange expertise using the DRIVE methodology provided by Delft University of Technology. An international team of experts will then analyse these findings and develop an actionable roadmap.

Each partner will engage key regional innovation representatives. EKT, for example, brings the Regional Development Fund of Attica as an associated partner. Representatives from the three regions will also have the opportunity to refine their RIS3 strategies through scientific insights and project recommendations.
