The Smart Attica EDIH is Greece’s first European Digital Innovation Hub focused on Artificial Intelligence.
The Hub is dedicated to the digital transformation of Greek small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and organisations, aiming to enhance their digital maturity. Aligned with the pan-European network of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH), Smart Attica supports businesses and organisations in three critical sectors of the Greek economy:
- Energy & Environment
- Supply Chain & Mobility
- Culture & Tourism
Smart Attica provides services leveraging expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, High-Performance Computing, 5G Technology, and Cybersecurity.
Structure and Expertise
The Hub comprises 17 partners across Greece, including the National Documentation Centre (EKT), and is coordinated by the Digital Innovation Hub (ahedd) at the National Centre for Scientific Research "Demokritos." Its partners hail from research, academic, business, and financial sectors, ensuring the Hub’s effectiveness and comprehensive expertise.

EKT’s Role
EKT brings its extensive experience and strategic role in Greece’s innovation ecosystem to the Hub. By fostering synergies with its ongoing projects and initiatives, EKT provides a holistic suite of services, including networking, advisory, information dissemination, and training. These services aim to enhance the innovation and digital capabilities of businesses and organisations, facilitating the development and growth of innovative ideas, products, and services.
Recognition and Funding
Smart Attica EDIH is one of 136 hubs approved by the European Commission, actively participating in the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) network. The initiative is co-funded by the Digital Europe Programme 2021-2027.
